Hopefully, this list will inspire you to take the plunge and spend some time up at the lake!

Moose Cabin just looks like one of those places that you remember fondly. The owners have taken the time to decorate every corner and that makes it hard to resist. Even the antler chandelier adds that extra touch and this attention to detail is why Moose Cabin is on our list.

Location

Located between North Shore and Tahoe City, Moose Cabin is close to 28 and makes getting to nearby amenities easy.

Amenities

Moose Cabin comes with all the standard amenities, internet, tv, etc. But one thing that stands out is they are pet-friendly. Don’t leave the dog at home when for a few extra bucks you can bring them along.

What People Are Saying

Moose Cabin reviews are good all around with 4.5 out of 5 with 52 reviews. The most common criticism is that the cabin would be difficult sleeping eight people. Then people often noted that the furniture was old and some said dated.

Those criticisms were few and far between with most loving the big fireplace, the location, and being able to bring their dog along.

Why We Love It

Moose Cabin reminds me of the cabin trips I would take as a kid. That loft looks like the perfect place to get lost in a book, and the dining table is begging for a board game. Plus with Tahoe City and North Shore close by you have access to loads of great restaurants and shopping.

I’m not sure if this is what you imagine when you think of a log cabin, but this is pretty darn close in my eyes. Gundy’s Getaway looks like it fell out of a fantasy book and Once your inside it just gets better.

Location

Moose Cabin is located in Lake Tahoe’s North Shore between Tahoe City and the King’s Beach area. It’s nestled up in the woods not far from 28.

Amenities

Grundy’s Getaway comes with all the standard amenities including washer & dryer, internet, and pets are welcome too, Yay!🐶 The big feature for me is the huge fireplace perfect for some storytelling.

What People Are Saying

As I write this, Grundy’s Getaway has 4.6 out of 5 stars with 19 reviews. Some of the negative feedback was involving just general maintenance and wear and tear. On the positive side; Many of the reviews mentioned the large deck, how welcoming the house feels, and being pleased about being able to bring the dog along. Enchanting was a word used a lot as well. I couldn’t agree more.

Why We Love it

Enchanting couldn’t be a better word to describe this cabin. Surrounded by a cathedral of pine near the most beautiful lake in the world is a recipe for a great time. I would be pleased to spend a week with my family in this enchanting getaway. Because of this, Grundy’s Getaway makes our list.

Chamberlands Cabin

Something about “A” frame cabins just really gets me excited. On one level, they are charming and often feature my favorite architectural addition, a loft. Built mostly of long wood they are a staple of areas with abundant pine and heavy snowfall. Plus I could easily nerd out on how efficient and easy to build they are.

Chamberlains cabin gets me that kind of excited. It’s a great example of what an “A” frame can be, and its location and access to private beaches put it on our list.

Location

Like our other two cabins, this charmer is located in Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. It is very close to private beaches and skiing in the winter.

Amenities

After your standard array of amenities, Chamberlands offers access to the private beach, pool, and tennis courts. Having these at your disposal is a luxury because often you would have to pay extra for access to these features.

What People Are Saying

Chamberlands Cabin has 4.3 stars out of 5 with 7 reviews. Many of the criticisms were the smaller bathroom and worn furnishings. But a lot of folks were saying how they enjoyed all the amenities and how close it is to boat rentals, the lake, and a pool.

Why We Love It

This would have been the place my Mom would have picked for our vacation. It’s sensible and has many amenities to keep young ones entertained. And for everything you get the price is very fair for the area. That’s why Chamberlands makes our list.

Conclusion

While we can’t feature every single cabin in Lake Tahoe, we can feature a few to get you excited. Being able to spend a week up in the mountains with people you are close to is a lasting experience. Many of my fondest memories as a child were spent on the beaches and in the trees in and around Lake Tahoe.

By the way, none of these properties are paying me to write this. I am just a big supporter of the area and cabin culture. So get out there and travel!
